Blanket Stitch

Blanket stitch is a line stitch. You can use it for a textured line stitch or as a filling too. I often use this stitch along horizon lines for extra interest.

Bring your needle up and pick up a little bit of fabric with your needle along a vertical line.  Wrap the thread around the needle and pull through.

Make another stitch by picking up a little bit of fabric vertically and wrap the needle around as in the first stitch.  Pull the needle through.

Continue to the end of the stitched line.
